Does Your Adwords Display URL Match Your Destination URL?
Today, when I logged into my adwords account, I saw this alert:
Important Change to URL Policy Enforcement
Starting in April, display URLs for new ads will be required to match their destination / landing page URLs, without exception. Please adjust your URLs accordingly when creating new ads.

That got me worried, because most of my Google Adword Landing Page URLs are coded up with the various Keyword Radar tracking parameters, and at first glance I thought that I’d have to scramble to fix all my URLs to comply.
But after reading further into this, I found this:
Tracking URLs
Your ads will be approved if the URL of your landing page domain matches that of your display URL domain.
For example, the following would be acceptable:
- Display URL: www.google.com/adwords
- Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123
- Landing page URL: www.google.com
However, this example would be unacceptable:
- Display URL: www.google.com/adwords
- Destination URL: www.trackingurl.com/google123
- Landing page URL: www.trackingurl.com
So, if you are using Keyword Radar to track your traffic before you redirect them somewhere else, it appears that it is OK to set your destination URLs to either our servers (if you do direct linking compaigns) or your own domain landing page where the Keyword Radar code is used to set visitor cookies and redirect to where you want the traffic to go.
Please email me or post comments.
